Boil Water Advisory for Goulais

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 25, 2022 Boil Water Advisory Issued for Goulais Bay
Goulais, ON – Batchewana First Nation’s new Water Treatment Facility located in Goulais Bay has detected exceeded turbidity limits, which is common this time of year due to the seasonal overturn and discharge from the Goulais River. At this time Batchewana First Nation leadership is issuing a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory (PBWA) for all community members residing at the Goulais Bay Reserve. This advisory is put in place to protect the health and safety of the residents effective, April 24, 2022. The duration of the advisory is currently unknown, residents are asked to check for updates as BFN will be issuing a weekly notice that can be viewed on their website (www.batchewana.ca) and social media page (Facebook). Bottled water will be available for delivery through the First Nation by contacting the Community Health Representative, Regis Poulin at (705) 987- 3975 or chr@batchewana.ca. Regis is also the point of contact for any questions or concerns pertaining to the PBWA. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to resolve this matter in a timely fashion.
