Bow Lake Wind Facility

The Bow Lake Wind Facility is located approximately 80 km northwest of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The site is in the Algoma district, close to the eastern edge of Lake Superior and south of the Montreal River in an area that has been, and continues to be, used for hydroelectric generation, mining and forestry. The Project will have the capacity to generate up to 58.32 MW of clean renewable electricity using a total of 36 – 1.6 MW wind turbines.

The facility operates under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Independent Electricity System Operator.

Batchewana First Nation is a full commercial partner with BluEarth Renewables on the Project, representing one of the largest economic partnerships between a First Nation and wind energy developer in Canada.
